In the wake of Kendrick Lamar‘s eventful concert, fans are attempting to decipher a cryptic Instagram post by rap superstar Drake.

Lamar ignited the cultural scene on Juneteenth with “The Pop Out — Ken & Friends” concert in Los Angeles. Despite being from Compton, the hometown show featured a star-studded lineup, including Dr. Dre, Roddy Ricch, Ty Dolla $ign, Tyler The Creator, and Steve Lacy. Video clips from the event quickly went viral, showcasing the top talent from Southern California.

Anticipation was high for Drake’s response, especially after Lamar repeatedly performed his provocative track “Not Like Us.”

Drake’s response, however, left his nearly 150 million Instagram followers puzzled. The rapper posted a mirror selfie in a Cleveland jersey with the caption, “Summer League.”

Some fans speculated that Drake’s post was a direct jab at his close friend LeBron James, a well-known hip-hop enthusiast and past collaborator in various parties and business ventures. James, a player for the Los Angeles Lakers, was seen at Lamar’s concert, conveniently located just a short drive away at the Kia Forum in Inglewood.

James spent 11 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, leading them to their sole NBA championship in 2016. He departed the team two years later.

“He’s wearing a Cleveland jersey. Is he trolling LeBron?!!” another person wondered.

Another theory suggests that Drake’s post could be a dig at NBA star Russell Westbrook. The Los Angeles Clippers point guard joined Lamar onstage during the concert Wednesday night.

“I think Drake was trying to say Westbrook a– might have to compete in the summer league for a roster spot this year,” the respondent said.

On June 19, Kendrick Lamar solidified his status as the undisputed king of hip-hop. However, some Drake fans interpret his cryptic Instagram story as a sign that the “You the Best” rapper is gearing up for a major comeback this summer, potentially releasing an album or song targeting Lamar.
