Groom finds out bride is a man, 12 days after wedding

An Indonesian groom, identified as AK, experienced a shocking revelation twelve days after his wedding. This is when he discovered that his bride, Adinda Kanza, was actually a man. The couple had met on Instagram in 2023. After that, they dated for a year before deciding to marry.

Throughout their courtship, Adinda wore a traditional Muslim niqab. Thus, covering her entire face, which AK took as a sign of her devotion to Islam. After getting married on April 12, the couple had a small ceremony at AK’s home, as Adinda claimed to have no family.

However, AK’s suspicions grew when Adinda continuously avoided intimacy, citing reasons such as being on her period or feeling unwell. AK’s concerns deepened when Adinda refused to speak to his family and continued wearing the niqab at home.

Driven by suspicion, AK tracked down Adinda’s former address and found her parents alive and well. To his astonishment, Adinda’s parents revealed that his wife was actually a man named ESH, who had started crossdressing in 2020.

Police reports indicated that ESH had behaved convincingly as a woman, complete with a gentle voice and feminine appearance. ESH admitted to intending to marry AK to steal his family’s assets. The fraud has led to ESH’s arrest, and he faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

This incident has sparked widespread discussion and highlights the complexities of identity fraud and the impact on victims.
