Gunna has made a prediction about his forthcoming album One Of Wun, and it’s a rather bold one.

TMZ caught up with the Atlanta rapper on Monday (April 29) and asked him if he thinks his next project will top the charts.

“For sure” he responded. “The album One of Wun — it’s number one.”

About the forthcoming LP surpassing his widely praised 2023 package A Gift & A Curse, he said without hesitation: “For sure.”

Gunna’s last album was named HipHopDX‘s  Biggest Comeback of 2023.

News editor Andy Bustard wrote about the tracklist: “For a while, many doubted that Gunna would be able to climb his way back to the heights he achieved just 11 months prior when he earned his first No. 1 album with DS4Ever. Some even wondered whether his career was over altogether.

“With the release of his third album A Gift & A Curse…though, Gunna silenced the critics and proved that not even snitching allegations can drown the Drip King.”

He added: “Loaded with infectious, hard-hitting anthems and a defiant edge that’s reflected in its lack of guest features, the project peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart while its platinum-certified single “Fukumean” cracked the Top 5 on the Hot 100 chart, becoming one of the biggest (and unlikeliest) rap hits of 2023.”

Last month, the 30-year-old revealed the cover art for One of Wun: a painting by artist Calvin Clausell Jr. in which the rapper’s face is covered by a blue-and-white floral fabric.

While no further details about the release date were shared as part of that initial announce, the YSL rapper captioned its Instagram post: “ONE OF WUN | ALBUM OTW.”

Gunna kickstarted the rollout for the new album with with two singles.

In February, he dropped “Bittersweet,” on which he seemingly extended an olive branch to his former Drip Harder collaborator Lil Baby, with whom he had been trading shots in past months.

“You my dawg, I don’t care if we fall out, I never could diss you,” he spat early on in the song, which marked his first offering since his last LP.

A month later, he once again fired back at allegations of being a snitch on a collaboration with Offset titled “Prada Dem.” On the track, which hit streaming services in mid-March, he spat: “I set the trend, I’m a trendsetter/ I’m not a rat, still gettin’ cheddar.”
