Havoc has delighted Mobb Deep fans everywhere by teasing unreleased music from the duo, produced by The Alchemist.

The Queensbridge legend took to Instagram on Monday (July 15) to share the exciting news live from Uncle Al’s recording studio.

“I’m at ALC studios. New Mobb Deep coming soon,” he said in a video. “R.I.P. Prodigy. You see Al in the background. You already know what it is. Mobb Deep coming soon, baby. Infinite!”

DJ Premier, Conway The Machine and De La Soul‘s Posdnuos were among the horde of fans who welcomed the news in Hav’s comments section, with Premo calling it the “best news!!!”

The Alchemist later fueled excitement further by sharing a snippet of the new material that they’re working on.

“And it begins….. @mobbdeephavoc @prodigymobbdeep,” he captioned the clip.

The Alchemist has had a long and fruitful relationship with Havoc and the late Prodigy as both solo artists and as part of Mobb Deep.

He produced two songs on the group’s 1999 album Murda Muzik — including the Kool G Rap-assisted “The Realest” — and released a joint album with Havoc in 2016 called The Silent Partner.

Additionally, he dropped two full-length collaborations with Bandana P (Return of the Mac, Albert Einstein) while teaming up with him on classic cuts like “Keep It Thoro” and “Hold You Down.”

Despite Prodigy’s untimely death in 2017, Havoc has been slowly plotting a new Mobb Deep album, which would mark their first since 2014’s The Infamous Mobb Deep.

Last year, he confirmed that a new project with posthumous vocals by his departed rap partner was in the works, and that he was also recording an album with Method Man.

“I’m actively working on a Mobb Deep album now, as we speak,” he said on Talib Kweli‘s People’s Party podcast. “The family blessed me with a bunch of vocals [by Prodigy] and soon as I leave here, I’m goin’ back to work.”

Just last month, Havoc continued to pour one out for Prodigy by paying tribute to him on the seventh anniversary of his passing.

“Missing my brother,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a few photos of the late rapper. “Today marks 7 years, feels like just yesterday we were rocking them stages and reflecting on our journey.”

Prodigy’s death was the result of accidental choking during a hospital stint related to his long and well-documented battle with sickle cell disease.
