Dublin City Council Hip-Hop Showcase returns for its second year, taking over Meeting House Square, Temple Bar in Dublin city centre for a vibrant celebration of Irish hip-hop culture on Sunday, 23rd June from 12-5pm.

Following the resounding success of the inaugural event in September 2023, this free, family-friendly event offers an exciting platform to showcase local Irish hip-hop talent to the community.

This year’s event promises a jam-packed programme, including a DJ turntable exhibition with Justme and Ophelia, a dance showcase with local school Karma Dance, exciting beatbox battles with audience participation, crew dance battles, live DJ sets, and an open dance cypher for anyone who wants to join the fun!

The event culminates with a performance by the acclaimed Irish hip hop artist JYellowL. Fresh off his Eurovision bid with the song “Judas” ft. Toshin, JYellowL is sure to deliver an unforgettable performance at the Showcase.

Speaking of the event, Lord Mayor of Dublin Daithí de Róiste said “I am delighted to launch this year’s Dublin City Council Hip Hop Showcase to give young people a space to enjoy all things hip hop culture at Meeting House Square, Temple Bar – and it’s a free event!”

“We are also very proud to give local emerging artists and musicians this platform to showcase their talents in the heart of the city.”
