We’re only days away from the 2024 Grammys, and I can hardly contain my excitement. There are so many music artists this year that I’m rooting for, but who will ultimately take home the prestigious awards? Find out by watching the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. on CBS and Paramount+.

When nominations were announced back in November 2023, I was pleasantly surprised to see SZA earn the most Grammy nods, a total of nine, making her the most-nominated artist at the ceremony. Artists like Victoria Monét, Phoebe Bridgers, and Serban Ghenea didn’t do too badly themselves, receiving seven Grammy nominations each. Next were Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift with six nominations each.

But what I really want to talk about is the Best New Artist category. Everyone’s wondering which artist this award will be awarded to. It’s a coveted award recognizing the year’s most outstanding new performer, and after looking at all the nominees, I’d say it’s a pretty tough competition. The nominees are Ice Spice, Gracie Abrams, Fred again.., Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét, and The War And Treaty.

Ice Spice

Although 2022 is when Ice Spice rose on the rapping scene with her hit track “Munch (Feelin’ U),” you can definitely say 2023 was her year. She dropped her debut EP Like..? in January 2023, and it immediately blew up. Then, she added Grammy-nominated rapper Nicki Minaj on a remix to her “Princess Diana” song on the EP, and it ended up peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her collaborations with other music artists such as rapper Lil Tjay and singers PinkPantheress and Taylor Swift also added to her success. But will she be the lucky artist winning the award for Best New Artist at this year’s Grammys?

I mean, R&B singers Victoria Monét and Coco Jones have also proven that they’re deserving of praise and recognition for their work, so who’s to say one of them won’t win? The same goes for the other talented nominees in this category. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

The 2024 Grammys airs live on CBS and Paramount+ on Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
