The controversial divorce between influencers Robert “LaTruth” Hampton and Briana Hampton is a hot topic online.
The two influencers tied the knot in 2016 after dating for just five months. Most of their relationship, as well as its tumultuous ending, played out on social media starting in 2022 after the “I Hate You More” rapper refused to adopt the three children Hampton had from a previous relationship.
It’s unclear if the divorce is finalized, but Briana appears to be celebrating anyway with an epic divorce party on March 29. The event occurred just days before LaTruth shared a video of himself with an unknown woman he was rumored to be marrying in Las Vegas.

Divorce parties have been a fun trend for several years that has gained traction with social media, and celebrities like “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Bambi and Lil Scrappy have joined in on the festivities.
Hampton decided to have one to celebrate the end of her marriage to LaTruth. She shared several pictures from the party on Instagram with a long caption.
“About Friday evening…….. My divorce without hesitation was all good!! Omgggggg I had sooo much fun,” she wrote. “Thank you to all of my supporters who traveled from all over and from Atlanta to celebrate with me!! Thank you to my family, I am so lucky to have had you all with me because you have been there from the beginning and now here we are on the journey of redefining me!”
Hampton went on to thank her event planner Jami Forbes and celebrity cake artist Lynnette Moore for decorating the event space and creating her ’90s-themed cake with the words “Straight Outta Marriage” and “Fn Free.”
Author of The Divorce Party Handbook, Christine Gallagher, says many people burn things at divorce parties. “We heard that wedding dresses were burned at divorce parties, even the marriage bed,” she wrote.
Hampton appears to have taken a page from Gallagher’s book, as another cake Toppy Sweets made for the party included the phrase “I do, I have, I’m done,” complete with fake dynamite. “Thank you @toppysweets for my burnt cake. I enjoyed watching him burn lol!!”
“If you only knew half of it, you would know why this celebration is so important to me and others!! Anyway, I hope I didn’t miss anyone. Cheers to ‘REDEFINING BRI’,” she concluded.
Fans responded on Instagram, congratulating Hampton on her freedom. “Finally Freeeee…” one fan replied. “You’re hilarious for this,” joked another. “Dude has lost a serious villain. He must be somewhere venting,” another added.
Just days after Hampton shared pictures from their divorce party, LaTruth posted a video on Instagram showing him in his car with a female passenger. He captioned the post, “On the way to Vegas to get married.” The artist also posted an Instagram story in which he claimed he had “never been divorced in his entire life,” so it’s unclear if the Divorce is legally binding. He also shared footage of the woman trying on wedding dresses on April 1.
Fans reacted to his post and urged the woman to run away. “Girl, run and run fast,” one replied. “Gatdam, the ink isn’t dry yet! Lol,” another added. “Congratulations. May your union be blessed,” one remarked.
Briana and the recording artist have one child together, a daughter, Amoura, but LaTruth has been hesitant to adopt his stepchildren – Lauryn, Isaiah and Joshua. He shared a video of Hampton throwing his clothes out of the closet with the caption: “This all because I refused to adopt her children.” You better stop portraying me as a villain when I do this all the time was just a great man. She’s trying to take everything away from me and that’s sad. I deserve better.”
LaTruth claims Hampton asked him to adopt her children after a discussion of divorce and several references to other men who had done the same with their stepchildren.
“I said no!’ I mean, we got married. “There’s no point in adopting kids and we’re married,” he said on The Culture Club Uncensored. “I’m already a father to them. Because I had already talked about divorce “I just knew at that moment that she wanted me to do this for stability. So in the event of a divorce, I have to pay child support for all the children.”
Briana claimed she never asked him to adopt her children and accused her estranged husband of abusing her.
