Mercedes-Benz and BMW have announced their sales results for the first-half of this year, where Mercedes-Benz registered record-breaking sales, while BMW reported strong growth in the country.
For Mercedes-Benz, the sales of its electric vehicles (EVs) went up by 60 per cent with over 5 per cent penetration in the H1 2024 sales. In the last six months, it reported a nine per cent year-on-year growth at 9,262 units compared to 8,528 units in H1 2023. The brand saw SUV penetration at 55 per cent, while its high-end automobiles comprised 25 per cent of the total sales. Then, the sales of the ultra-luxury Maybach cars grew by 108 per cent in H1 2024. Meanwhile, the EV sales jumped 60 per cent and now account for five per cent of the overall sales.
On the other hand, BMW posted 21 per cent year-on-year growth with 7,098 units (BMW and Mini) sold between January and June 2024. Out of which, BMW delivered 6,734 units and Mini sold 364 units. Whereas, BMW Motorrad India registered a sales of 3,614 units in the same period.
On the other hand, Audi had sold 1,049 units in the first quarter of the year, while it was managed to sell 1,431 units. This suggests that the brand registered a sales of 2,480 units in the first half of 2024.
From April to June this year, the sales of Audi Approved: plus, Audi India’s used car subsidiary went up by 33 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year. The brand currently has about 26 pre-owned car showrooms across India and it plans to add a few more by the end of this year.
