Moor Mother: The Great Bailout

Performing at Volksbühne, international touring musician, composer, poet, visual artist and curator, Mother Moor, aka Camae Ayewa, performs her latest studio album live this Thursday. Her music works as a statement for the future and as a way to connect with the present and its historic past realities. Her third release with ANTI-records, Ayewa’s music contains multitudes of instruments and voices that take on themes of Afrofuturism and collective memory with the forebearers of jazz, hip hop and beat poetry in mind.

B-Large: Queerfeminist Bar Night

Experience the revival of culinary creativity at our KüFa @b_lage_nk event on May 9th at B-LAGE in Neukölln. Symbiotic Synchrony

Head to Dagmar Schürrer’s solo exhibition ‘Symbiotic Synchrony’ at SOMA this weekend. At this captivating multimedia installation, you can explore the depths of symbiosis and neural synchrony in the post-digital era and challenge conventional notions of individuality and subjectivity. Curated by Peggy Schoenegge, this exhibition is a pivotal part of the ‘Becoming Future’ project, shedding light on Berlin’s technology-driven art scene.

Bite Club Berlin

Fun times always feel so far away at the start of the week but as we edge closer to the weekend, Berlin’s most beloved Street Food Party doesn’t seem so distant after all. Back again this Friday at Badeschiff for their first party of the season, BITE Club promises a huge selection of delicious treats with 17 food trucks and 5 bars to choose from, plus a wine deck and sound system to provide the perfect background music for the day.

Creamcake: Is it cold in the water?

Experience Creamcake’s groundbreaking “Is it cold in the water?” series as it transforms Liquidrom’s spa complex into a realm of communal exploration. Divided into morning and afternoon sessions, the event showcases a diverse lineup including Hayden Dunham and Jazmina Figueroa, with special readings curated by Monilola Olayemi Ilupeju. Artists respond to Liquidrom’s unique water environments, where conventional notions of identity and corporeality disappear, offering a space for healing and self-discovery.

Trompo Fest 2024

African Food Festival

Head to Al Hamra for an evening of music, spoken word performances and speeches organised by theleftberlin. An alternative event for anyone wishing to boycott Eurovision this year, all money raised at Palivision will be donated to the European Legal Support Centre to help support Palestinian Solidarity in Germany.

Small Great Things ‘Garden Opening’

Part of ‘A Maze’, the 13th International Games and Playful Media Festival, discover the intriguing saga of The Life of Saint Fiona Bianco Xena, where the story of a fictional saint is fiercely debated by experts. Join Fantasia Malware for a captivating video game performance that plays with religious symbolism and fantasy aesthetics.

Sunday

Berlin E-Prix

For those motorheads out there, the all-electric motorsport series Formula E is at our heels yet again, taking over the former Tempelhof Airport this Sunday. Formula E cars can famously accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in under three seconds, with top speeds of up 280km/h. The ‘Shell Recharge Berlin E-Prix’ comprises of 14 races in 12 different cities around the world, with Berlin being one of them. The event is seen as an opportunity to embrace electromobility around the world.

Primavera Spargel Festival

Primavera Spring Festival in Berlin’s Schöneberg district is always an exciting experience with its delectable array of asparagus dishes and other culinary creations. Enjoy some freshly prepared Beelitz asparagus, savoury soups, sausages and herbs from local growers. Make sure to also check out the colourful stage program, and the opportunity to savour the flavours of the season.

Berliner Berg Brauerei: Pie Fest Vol. 3

Head to this special food festival for a selection of savoury and sweet pies, deep-dish pizzas, cinnamon rolls, and various other delicacies that are sure to perk your interest. Drinks will also be on the menu including sparkling cider, premium coffee and, of course, Berlin’s best tap beer.
