NBA Youngboy turbulent past relationship with YaYa Mayweather has landed him back in the news as a new video has surfaced from one of their most turbulent moments.
In police bodycam footage which was posted to YouTube on Saturday (February 3), the Baton Rouge rapper can be seen explaining to a police officer what he believed happened on the night of April 4, 2020. That was the night when Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather stabbed Lapattra Lashai Jacobs after she discovered her inside YoungBoy’s Louisiana residence.
Yaya, who is the daughter of the world-famous boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., reportedly claimed to be the Top rapper’s fiancée and charged at Jacobs with two knives after the pair began fighting.
NBA YoungBoy, who is barely intelligible in the video, is subsequently calmed down without force by the police. Later in the same clip, Yaya can be seen taken away from the home in handcuffs and begins sobbing when she realizes she’d severely harmed Jacobs, who had been rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The clip then cuts away to NBA YoungBoy being arrested and Mirandized. After he refuses to discuss the incident with the police, he demands to be released from the handcuffs.

Mayweather pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon later that month after Jacobs, who is the mother of one of YoungBoy’s children, suffered multiple lacerations on her arm.
In December 2022, Yaya received Deferred Adjudication of Guilt and was sentenced to six years of probation, according to KPRC-TV.
NBA YoungBoy and Yaya Mayweather began dating in late 2018. She revealed her pregnancy in 2020 and gave birth to their son later that year. Their relationship broke off and has been rocky in the time since. In an unreleased track titled “Carry On,” YB claims Yaya won’t let him see their son.
“She doesn’t want KJ to come, but then she tries to FaceTime him with me, but I don’t want to talk at all/I don’t give a fuck. Go tell the critics, bitch,” he raps on the track that leaked in January.
YoungBoy remains on house arrest in Utah since being granted bail in October. The father of seven returned to the music scene last month with the release of his Colors mixtape featuring a lone assist from Quando Rondo.
